Program Details
Must be a PG&E electric customer. Installed
software must automatically control the power
settings of networked personal computers (PC) at
the server level. The software must be capable
of managing power consumption for each
individual PC. In addition, the software must be
capable to report energy savings results. This
software is to be used as part of a customer’s
system-wide best practice strategy for energy
efficiency. When submitting a rebate worksheet,
customers must ensure proper documentation is
attached. Qualifying software must be purchased
and installed on or after March 1, 2007.

Sacramento Municipal Utility District California
To qualify for the SMUD express incentive of $10
per computer, the installed power management
software must automatically control the power
settings of the networked PCs at the
server/enterprise level.
The software must be capable of managing the
power consumption for each individual PC and
must report the individual and cumulative energy
savings.
Customers must provide to SMUD:
- Copy of Software
License Agreement.
- A report directly
from the Network Energy Management software
verifying the number of PCs being controlled
by the software.
- Number of
computers authorized per license; and,SMUD
access to customer property site to verify
the software installation and number of
controlled PCs.

Utilities Washington and Idaho
Software solutions that have the following
minimum capabilities are potentially eligible
for a $10 incentive per controlled PC from
Avista:
The ability to provide regular (at least
quarterly) energy use reports that indicate the
overall average controlled PC energy savings as
well as average controlled PC energy savings by
similar groups of PC's.
The ability to provide usage data prior to
controls being installed (i.e. pre-monitoring of
uncontrolled PC's).
The software must control every available level
of power management offered by the customers PC
hardware and monitor at the time of installation
(e.g. on, off, hibernating, suspended etc.)
Available levels of control may differ based on
operating system.
User over-ride capabilities must be able to be
reset by the software at a minimum of every 24
hours.
The software must achieve a minimum average
savings of 120 annual kWh per controlled PC.
Network power management software must remain in
operation for a minimum of three years. |
